Free printable activities for 5 and 6 year olds
Five and six year olds are learning to read. Sight-word practice, letter formation, number tracing up to 20, and rhyming activities all click at this age — and so does the pride of finishing a worksheet on their own.
Pick printables with a single clear task per page: trace the word, color the matching picture, draw a line from cat to hat. Easy 10×10 mazes work great. Simple addition with pictures (count the apples, write the number) bridges the gap from counting to arithmetic.
Independence is the win here. Kids this age want to feel competent. Print a small stack with answer keys when possible, and let them check their own work — the self-check is the learning.
