Free printable activities for 9 and 10 year olds
Nine and ten year olds can tackle real reading. Longer comprehension passages — half a page of text with five or six questions — start to feel right, and so does the math: multiplication tables to 12, long division, beginning fractions, area and perimeter, and word problems with two steps.
Logic puzzles really take off at this age. Sudoku 4×4 and easy 9×9, logic grids ('which kid had which lunch on which day'), Caesar-cipher puzzles, and crosswords aimed at upper elementary all hit the sweet spot between solvable and challenging.
Print a mix: one math page, one reading page, one puzzle, one creative-writing prompt. Variety beats repetition for this age — they bore quickly when every page looks the same.
