How to use these word scrambles
- Early readers (K–1st): stick with shorter themes like Colors or Family and leave the word bank turned on — kids match scrambled letters to a word they can see.
- Spelling practice (2nd–4th): turn the word bank off so kids have to unscramble from memory. Great for end-of-week spelling list review.
- Custom spelling lists: paste this week’s spelling words and print — the same list works as a homework sheet, a sub-plan filler, or a quiet-time activity.
- Birthday parties & road trips: a Holiday or Space themed scramble is a no-screen quiet activity that takes under a minute to print.
Tips for printing
- Toggle Include answer key before printing — it appears as a separate page so you can hand kids just the puzzle.
